All Natural Alfalfa Hay Cubes
What are All Natural Alfalfa Hay Cubes?
All Natural Alfalfa Hay Cubes are 100% sun-dried alfalfa, compressed into cubes for young, growing, pregnant, or nursing rabbits, guinea pigs, and chinchillas.
The higher protein and calcium of alfalfa supports growth; adult pets should use these as an occasional treat rather than an everyday hay.
Why alfalfa instead of Timothy hay cubes for young pets?
Alfalfa is a legume, not a grass, so it's naturally higher in protein and calcium β nutrients growing, pregnant, or nursing small pets need more of.
Once your pet reaches adulthood, that extra richness becomes more than they need day to day, which is why we recommend transitioning to Timothy.
How much should I feed, and at what age?
- 3β4 weeks: Mother's milk, plus nibbles of alfalfa hay, cubes, and pellets.
- 4β7 weeks: Mother's milk, plus access to alfalfa hay, cubes, and pellets.
- 7 weeksβ7 months: Unlimited alfalfa hay, cubes, and pellets.
- 7 monthsβ1 year: Do not exceed 1β2 alfalfa cubes per 6 lbs. of body weight.
- 1 year and older: Treat only β do not exceed 1β2 cubes daily.
When should I switch from Alfalfa to Timothy cubes?
Around 7 months to 1 year for rabbits, 6 months for guinea pigs, and 1 year for chinchillas. After that, Timothy Hay Cubes become the everyday grass-hay cube, with Alfalfa Cubes reserved as an occasional treat.
What is in this product, and how do I store it?
Ingredients: 100% sun-dried alfalfa. Does not contain added Vitamin C.
Store in a cool, dry place with good airflow β a sealed container or the original bag works well. Discard any uneaten portion left in the cage before the next feeding.
